Rockstar Games has rolled its GTA Online weekly update into the second half of the Summer Heist Event, and this stretch — running August 6th through 12th — is shaping up to be the more lucrative of the two weeks. The headline draw is the return of the Panther Statue, one of the rarest and most valuable finds in the game, alongside a guaranteed million-dollar giveaway for anyone who simply logs in.
The Panther Statue Is Back
For players chasing big paydays, this is the week to run The Cayo Perico Heist. Rockstar is guaranteeing that the Panther Statue — normally a rare pull — will appear as the primary target on your first playthrough of the heist during the event window. Escaping with it isn't just about the payout, either: successfully completing the heist finale with the statue in hand also unlocks the exclusive Panther Tour Jacket.
The statue has a reputation for good reason. With a full four-player crew, a successful run pulling the Panther Statue can pay out somewhere in the neighborhood of GTA$4.19 million, making it one of the single biggest scores available anywhere in GTA Online right now.
Rockstar is sweetening the Cayo Perico loop further by bringing back Assault on Cayo Perico and Cayo Perico Survival for the week, both offering bonus rewards, while Motor Wars (Cayo Perico) and Shipwrecks continue paying out double GTA$ and RP.
Free GTA$1,000,000 Just for Logging In

As part of Rockstar's End of Summer Giveaway, any player who logs into GTA Online between August 6th and August 12th will receive a free GTA$1,000,000, delivered within 72 hours — no missions, heists, or purchases required. Logging in during the window also nets a handful of cosmetic extras: the Sunset Glow Necklace and Blue and Pink Glow Shades.
Kortz Center Heist Gets a Refresh
The Kortz Center Heist — Rockstar's newer art-heist activity — is rotating in a fresh set of Primary Target paintings for the week. The heist's first-completion bonus has also been reset, and pulling off a run without dying nets an extra GTA$400,000 on top of whatever artwork you walk away with. As always, stolen paintings can either be sold off for a quick profit or hung in your Mansion for players building out a collection.
On the technical side, Rockstar quietly shipped a batch of fixes for the Kortz Center Heist finale this week, tightening up several stealth and detection issues players had been reporting — including guards being alerted without any clear trigger, a camera near the loading bay that could spot players in disguise, and a security camera in the hedge maze that could go invisible mid-mission.

More Community Events on the Horizon

Rockstar has also hinted at what's coming next. In a message sent to select community members, the studio teased "more community events including a celebration of Los Santos' most beloved brands, Twitch Drops, GTA Online businesses taking center stage, and much more" in the weeks ahead — suggesting the Summer Heist Event is just the opening act for a busier summer content push.
The next GTA Online weekly update is expected to land on August 13th, 2026, at roughly 10 AM BST / 5 AM ET.
