Grand Theft Auto VI's file size has surfaced, and players will want to start freeing up space. The PS5 version is listed at 210GB, a figure that lands well below the 300GB-plus numbers fans have been speculating about for years, though it is still a very large install.
The number comes from the PlayStation Game Size account on X, which tracks the PlayStation Store's backend database for upcoming pre-load and update sizes. Because those figures are pulled straight from Sony's own listing data, the account has a strong track record. That makes 210GB the most credible size we've seen for the game.
Pre-loading starts November 12
The size matters because of the timing. Pre-loading is set to begin on November 12, giving players a full week to download the game before launch. GTA VI releases at midnight local time on November 19. Physical copies are also due to reach stores and customers on November 12, so players who buy a boxed copy can pre-load as well.

Xbox sizes still unknown
The 210GB figure applies to PlayStation 5 only. That console benefits from a more efficient compression approach, so the Xbox Series X version may come in somewhat larger. The Series S, which targets lower resolutions, could be smaller if 4K assets are left out. None of that is confirmed. Actual install sizes for each platform should become clear when pre-loading opens, and trophy and achievement lists may appear before then.
Reviews are coming
The size reveal follows news that Rockstar has sent early copies to reviewers and, it seems, to some content creators. They reportedly have more than three weeks with the game ahead of launch, and the review embargo date has also been confirmed. Spoilers and early impressions should appear before November 19.
For now, the practical advice is simple. If you're playing on console, check your free storage, decide which games can go, and plan your downloads so GTA VI is ready to launch the moment the clock strikes midnight.
