Achieving 100% completion in Grand Theft Auto V is a major undertaking, but it doesn't require you to do everything in the game. The game's 100% requirement is a specific checklist of missions, activities, and collectibles.

Here is a complete guide and checklist for what is required to get that 100% in your game's stats.

You can track your progress in-game by pausing and navigating to the "Stats" > "100% Checklist" tab. You can also see a detailed breakdown on the Rockstar Games Social Club website by linking your account.

1. Main Story Missions (50%)

You must complete all 69 Main Story Missions. This includes all setup missions and heists.

• Lester's Assassination Missions: These are part of the main story and are required.

• Pro Tip: For maximum profit, it is highly recommended to save Lester's Assassination missions (after the first one, "The Hotel Assassination") until after you complete the final story heist. This will allow you to use all three characters' heist money to invest in the stock market based on Lester's tips, maximizing your cash.

2. Strangers and Freaks Missions (10%)

You only need to complete 20 specific Strangers and Freaks missions out of the 58 available. The required missions are:

• Tonya (All 5 missions): "Pulling Favors" (all parts). These towing missions are for Franklin.

• Beverly (All 5 missions): "Paparazzo" (all parts). These missions are for Franklin.

• Hao (1 mission): "Shift Work." This mission for Franklin unlocks Street Races.

• Barry (Only 2 missions): "Grass Roots - Franklin" and "Grass Roots - The Pick-Up." Only Franklin's first two missions for Barry are required.

• Mary-Ann (1 mission): "Exercising Demons - Franklin."

• Dom (All 4 missions): "Risk Assessment," "Liquidity Risk," "Targeted Risk," and "Uncalculated Risk" (which is his final parachute jump).

• Omega (2 missions): "Far Out" and "The Final Frontier." This involves finding all 50 Spaceship Parts.

• Dreyfuss (1 mission): "A Starlet in Vinewood." This mission unlocks after you find all 50 Letter Scraps.

3. Hobbies and Pastimes (10%)

You must complete or win 42 specific Hobbies and Pastimes. You do not need to get gold medals in all of them; a bronze medal will suffice for activities like the Flight School and Shooting Range.

• Shooting Range: Get at least a Bronze medal in all 3 challenges (Handguns, Submachine Guns, Assault Rifles, Shotguns, Light Machine Guns, Heavy) at an Ammu-Nation.

• Flight School: Get at least a Bronze medal in all 12 lessons at the Los Santos International Airport.

• Races:

  • Win 5 Street Races (unlocked via Hao's mission).

  • Win 6 Off-Road Races.

  • Win 4 Sea Races.

• Sports:

  • Win a game of Tennis.

  • Win a game of Darts.

• Golf: Play 9 holes of Golf and finish on Par or better (Even or Under Par).

• Triathlons: Win 1st place in all 3 Triathlon races.

• Parachuting: Complete all 13 Parachute Jumps (Base Jumps and Heli Jumps).

• Strip Club: Get a private dance at the Vanilla Unicorn strip club.

4. Random Events (15%)

You must complete 14 different Random Events. These are the blue and red dots that appear on your minimap while exploring. There are over 60 in the game, so you only need to complete a fraction of them.

5. Miscellaneous Tasks (15%)

You must complete 16 specific miscellaneous activities:

• Collectibles (Partial):

  • Complete 25 of the 50 Stunt Jumps.

  • Complete 25 of the 50 Under the Bridge challenges (flying a helicopter or plane under them).

  • Complete 8 of the 15 Knife Flights (flying a plane sideways between buildings).

• Collectibles (Full):

  • Collect all 50 Letter Scraps.

  • Collect all 50 Spaceship Parts.

• Character Activities:

  • Walk and play fetch with Chop.

  • Hire a Prostitute and use her "services."

  • Get a Booty Call (after hiring a stripper and filling her "like" meter, she will give you her number).

• Friend Activities:

  • Go to the Bar with one of your friends (another protagonist or a contact like Lamar).

  • Go to the Strip Club with a friend.

  • Go to the Movie Theater with a friend.

  • Play Darts with a friend.

• Purchases & Crime:

  • Purchase 5 money-generating properties (e.g., Sonar Collections Dock, Hookies, Los Santos Customs).

  • Purchase a vehicle from a website on your in-game phone.

  • Rob a Shop (hold up the clerk at any 24/7 store or gas station).

  • Visit the Cinema (either the Tivoli, Ten Cent, or Oriental).

What is NOT Required for 100%

It's just as important to know what you can skip. The following activities and collectibles DO NOT count toward 100% completion:

• Getting Gold medals on all missions.

• Collecting all 30 Submarine Parts.

• Collecting all 30 Nuclear Waste Barrels.

• Completing all Stunt Jumps (only 25 are needed).

• Completing all Under the Bridge challenges (only 25 are needed).

• Completing all Knife Flights (only 8 are needed).

• Completing all Strangers and Freaks missions (only the 20 listed above).

• Completing all Random Events (only 14 are needed).

• Yoga, Stock Market investing, Hunting, and Stock Car Races.

• Epsilon Program missions (though they are a fun side story!).

• Finding all Peyote Plants, Monkey Mosaics, or Wildlife Photos (these were added in enhanced versions and do not count for the base 100%).
