YouTube has commissioned a new original series built around GTA RP server NoPixel, timed to land alongside the rollout of NoPixel V — the server's biggest and most ambitious version yet, now backed directly by Rockstar Games.
The show, called NoPixel News, comes from prominent NoPixel streamer Buddha, who announced the project in a tweet describing it as a weekly catch-up on the "biggest moments, storylines, and chaos" happening across the server. New episodes are set to drop every Monday at 10:00 a.m. PST, recapping the previous week's events, with a planned run of 18 episodes. Buddha was explicit that the series is "powered by YouTube," language that appeared prominently in the first episode itself.
That debut episode, released last week, sees Buddha co-hosting alongside fellow streamer Burn, with NoPixel regular Caylus brought in as a special guest reporter. The format leans into a mock-broadcast style, staged and filmed entirely within GTA, complete with the "powered by YouTube" branding front and center throughout. The episode also weaves in clips from some heavy-hitting names in and around the NoPixel scene — co-owner xQc, Sidemen member Zerkaa, and erobb, among others.
Not YouTube's First NoPixel Bet

This isn't the platform's first attempt at building a scripted or semi-scripted series out of NoPixel's world. Last year, YouTube backed a similar project pitched around Caylus, an original series called CayPlay that also leaned on the server's roleplay drama for content.
That earlier series had a bumpy reception: while a handful of episodes cracked a million views, the finale struggled to clear even 100,000 — a rough result for a channel with more than 20 million subscribers. It's unclear exactly how much YouTube spent producing CayPlay, but between Caylus, the production crew, and NoPixel staff involved, it was likely a meaningful investment. Given those numbers, YouTube circling back for a second Caylus-adjacent NoPixel show is a bit of a surprising move — though it suggests the platform still sees enough upside in the roleplay community to keep funding content built around it.
With NoPixel V now drawing official Rockstar support and a fresh wave of attention, NoPixel News looks like an attempt to capture some of that momentum on a recurring, low-overhead weekly format rather than a one-off scripted push — a safer bet than CayPlay's more ambitious swing.
