The list of artists heading to Leonida is growing, with two familiar names dropping major hints about their involvement in Grand Theft Auto VI.
One of the most defining characteristics of any Rockstar title is the soundtrack. From the synth-heavy vibes of Vice City to the West Coast classics of San Andreas, the radio dial is often just as important as the map itself. As anticipation builds for Grand Theft Auto VI, fans are scouring the internet for any clue about what we’ll be listening to while cruising through Leonida—and thanks to some slip-ups by the artists themselves, we have a few new leads.
Both Panama and Neon Indian—artists who have previously contributed to the franchise—have all but confirmed their return for the next installment.
Panama Confirms "Back To Life"
The first potential reveal comes from the electronic band Panama. In an exchange spotted by community members, a fan commented on the band’s Instagram post, mentioning they had originally discovered Panama’s music through GTA V and Forza Horizon 2.
The official Panama account reportedly responded with a direct confirmation: “I've got a song called 'Back To Life' I wrote with Poolside. It'll be on GTA 6.”
The comment has since been deleted, a common occurrence when artists realize they may have violated a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) with the notoriously secretive Rockstar Games. If true, the track "Back To Life" (a collaboration with Poolside) would fit perfectly with the sun-soaked, neon-lit aesthetic expected from the Vice City setting.
Neon Indian Teases a Return
The second tease comes from Alan Palomo, the creative force behind Neon Indian. Palomo is no stranger to Los Santos; his track "Change of Coast" was a fan favorite in GTA V and served as the anthem for the GTA Online opening cutscene at launch.
During a recent episode of his podcast, the conversation turned to his history with Rockstar Games. Reflecting on his positive experiences working with the studio, Palomo dropped a cryptic hint about the future:
“It ain't the end of me and Rockstar Games. I won't… that's all I'm gonna say. I can't discuss more but, but yeah…”
While less direct than Panama’s comment, the hesitation and refusal to "discuss more" is a classic sign of an artist under embargo. Given the vibe of Neon Indian’s discography, his return would be a natural fit for the game's retro-modern atmosphere.
A Growing Roster of Rumors
These two indie darlings join a rapidly expanding list of artists rumored or confirmed to be attached to the project. The GTA 6 musical rumor mill already includes:
ScHoolboy Q: The rapper tweeted in early 2024 implying his music would be featured.
T-Pain: Revealed on a livestream that he was working with Rockstar (and consequently had to stop roleplaying on the NoPixel server).
Skrilla: Claimed his track "Doot Doot 6 7" will be included.
Drake: In an interview, Jermaine Dupri mentioned that the Canadian superstar might have his own radio station in the game.
DJ Khaled: Leaks suggest he may also host a station.
As we inch closer to the release window, the sonic landscape of GTA 6 is shaping up to be a massive mix of indie electronic, hip-hop, and pop. If these leaks are anything to go by, the radio stations in Leonida are going to be worth the wait.
