Just days after Rockstar Games announced the disappointing delay of Grand Theft Auto 6 into late 2026, there's a silver lining for PlayStation fans. According to a new, reliable report, Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online are set to make their return to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog this month.
This news comes from the well-known and highly accurate leaker "billbil-kun" of Dealabs, who has a near-perfect track record for revealing PS Plus lineups ahead of their official announcement.

When is GTA V Coming to PS Plus?
Availability Date: Grand Theft Auto V is reportedly scheduled to join the service on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
Official Announcement: Sony is expected to officially confirm this as part of its full Game Catalog reveal on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
Which PS Plus Tiers Get GTA V?
This will NOT be part of the "Essential" monthly games. You will need a subscription to either PlayStation Plus Extra or PlayStation Plus Premium to download and play the game.
This will include the full Grand Theft Auto V story mode and access to Grand Theft Auto Online, available for both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of the game.

A Consolation for the GTA 6 Delay?
The timing of this move is impossible to ignore. It comes less than a week after Rockstar confirmed GTA 6 was being pushed back to November 19, 2026.
This isn't the first time GTA V has been on the service—it was previously available in December 2023 and again in November 2024—but its return now feels like a calculated move. With a full year to wait for the next installment, adding the 220-million-selling blockbuster back to the service is the perfect way for Sony and Rockstar to keep players engaged in the GTA universe.
If previous appearances are any indication, GTA V will likely remain in the PS Plus Game Catalog for around six months before being rotated out again. For anyone who hasn't yet upgraded to the PS5 version, or for new players who want to see what all the fuss is about, this is the perfect time to jump into Los Santos.

Rockstar Delays GTA 6 Again, Confirms New November 2026 Release Date

Rockstar Games announced today, November 6, that Grand Theft Auto 6 has been delayed again. The game will now launch on November 19, 2026.
This is a significant push from its previous release date of May 26, 2026, adding another six-month wait for the most anticipated game in history.
The news was confirmed by Rockstar in an official statement on their Newswire and social media, and by their parent company, Take-Two Interactive, during its Q2 earnings call.

We want to thank you again for your patience and support. While the wait is a little longer, we are incredibly excited for players to experience the sprawling state of Leonida and a return to modern day Vice City."

This is now the second major delay for GTA 6. The original release window, announced in the first trailer, was a vague "Fall 2025."

What Does This Mean?

Every time a new sales report drops, we all expect the numbers for Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2 to finally start slowing down. And every time, we're wrong.

Take-Two CEO Says AI Won’t Make GTA 7: 'There Is No Creativity' in the Model

Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Rockstar's parent company, argues that AI is a "backward-looking" tool that can't replicate the human "genius" required for a new Grand Theft Auto.
As the hype for Grand Theft Auto 6 continues to build, the head of its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, has weighed in on the future of game development, stating unequivocally that Generative AI will not be creating Grand Theft Auto 7.  
In a series of widely reported interviews, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has forcefully downplayed the idea that AI could ever replace human developers for truly creative work, dismissing AI-generated content as "pretty derivative."  
Speaking at CNBC's Technology Executive Council Summit, Zelnick was asked about AI's role in the future of entertainment.
"Let's say there were no constraints [on AI]," Zelnick proposed. "Could we push a button tomorrow and create an equivalent to the 'Grand Theft Auto' marketing plan? The answer is no. A, you can't do that yet, and B, I am of the view that you wouldn't end up with anything very good."  
His core argument rests on a fundamental distinction between data and creativity.
In Zelnick's view, a true blockbuster like Grand Theft Auto is "forward-looking" and "created out of thin air" by the "extraordinary creativity" of a human team. An AI, he argues, can only re-package what has come before.

AI as a Tool, Not a Creator
Despite his firm stance against AI as a creative force, Zelnick clarified that he is "not an AI naysayer." He sees a powerful future for AI as a tool to assist developers, not replace them.

You spawn in with a pistol and a street car, while the rest of the lobby consists of billionaire CEOs, invisible jet griefers, and players calling in orbital strikes from a high-tech submarine.
The game has become a hostile, unwelcoming world for new players, and even veterans are growing tired of the bloat. Here’s why a continuation of the current model would be a disaster.
1. The Economy is Irreparably Broken There is no "economy" in GTA Online anymore. There is only absurd, hyper-inflated fantasy. A new t-shirt can cost $50,000, while a sports car costs $3 million. This was the result of "content creep"—a decade of Rockstar needing to one-up its previous update, topped off by years of rampant money glitches.
There is no way to balance this. GTA 6 cannot launch a balanced world where one player has a $500 pistol and another player ports over $500 billion in shark-card-funded assets. A reset is the only way to restore a sense of progression and make money feel valuable again.
2. The "Oppressor Mk II" Problem The game's sandbox is broken. Vehicles like the Oppressor Mk II (the infamous flying rocket bike) completely destroyed the "grounded" feel of Grand Theft Auto. Lobbies are no longer about car chases and street-level crime; they are about futuristic aerial warfare.

Porting over a multi-billion-dollar empire would make the entire GTA 6 multiplayer journey pointless from day one.

What a "Full Reset" Should Look Like
A reset doesn't mean GTA V players get nothing. Rockstar can (and should) reward veteran loyalty without breaking the new game:
Exclusive "Legacy" Rewards: Give returning players unique cars, outfits, and weapon skins unavailable to anyone else.
A "Veteran's" Starting Bonus: A modest cash injection (e.g., $1-2 million) would be enough to give returning players a head start on their first apartment or car, without letting them buy a military bunker on day one.
Character Creation: Allow players to import the look of their GTA Online character, but nothing else.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is a new game, a new city, and a new story. It deserves a new online experience to match. Letting players drag a decade's worth of military-grade baggage into the fresh, neon-soaked streets of Leonida would be a catastrophic mistake—one that would sacrifice the game's long-term health for a short-term player appeasement.

GTA 6 Studio in Crisis: Rockstar Games Fires Dozens, Accused of 'Ruthless' Union-Busting

Rockstar Games, the developer behind the decade's most anticipated title, Grand Theft Auto 6, is at the center of a massive labor scandal this week. The studio has reportedly fired 30 to 40 employees across its offices in the United Kingdom and Canada, in a move that a prominent trade union is calling "one of the most blatant and ruthless acts of union busting in the history of the games industry."

According to the Independent Workers' Union of Great Britain (IWGB), all of the fired employees were members of a private Discord channel where staff discussed unionizing and labor rights.
