As 2026 kicks off, the gaming world has its eyes locked on one massive event: the release of Grand Theft Auto VI. After a recent delay pushed the highly anticipated title to November 2026, anxiety has been high among fans fearing another slip into 2027 or a rumored sky-high price tag. However, new predictions from a reputable industry insider suggest gamers might finally be able to breathe a sigh of relief.

No More Delays?

Tom Henderson, the editor-in-chief of Insider Gaming and a source with a strong track record for industry scoops, has shared a surprisingly positive outlook for the game's launch. In a recent video breaking down predictions for the year, Henderson stated he believes GTA 6 will stick to its current November 2026 release window.

According to Henderson, the previous six-month delay was "substantial" enough to give Rockstar Games the time they needed. He further noted that the game has reportedly been "content complete" for some time, suggesting that the remaining development time is likely being dedicated to polish and bug fixing rather than adding new features.

The $80 Standard

Perhaps even more relieving than the release date news is the update on pricing. For over a year, rumors have swirled that GTA 6 could be the first major title to normalize a $100 base price for standard editions.

Henderson’s prediction challenges this fear. Insider Gaming predicts the standard edition of the game will launch at $80. While this is still a steep increase from the current $70 industry standard, it is significantly more palatable than the triple-digit price point many had feared.

PC Port on the Horizon

For PC gamers, who traditionally have to wait significantly longer for Rockstar titles, there is also a glimmer of hope. The predictions suggest a PC port could arrive as early as Fall 2027. Considering Rockstar's history—where PC ports often lag years behind console releases—a one-year turnaround would be a welcome surprise.

A Grain of Salt

While Tom Henderson is considered one of the more reliable voices in the industry, it is important to remember that these are predictions, not official confirmations from Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive. Development schedules for projects of this scale are notoriously volatile.

However, for fans weary of bad news and endless rumors, this update offers a much-needed dose of optimism. If these predictions hold true, 2026 is on track to be a historic year for the industry, with GTA 6 leading the charge right on schedule.

BootROM keys for the PlayStation 5 have leaked online

A surprise to ring in the New Year was the discovery of what could potentially help lead to developments in the PlayStation 5 hacking scene. Internal files from Sony have leaked onto the internet, which includes "Level 0 BootROM keys" for the PS5. These keys are instrumental in understanding how the PlayStation 5 operates, and could also be used to decrypt the PS5's bootloader. As it stands, since they exist on a hardware level, there's nothing Sony can do to patch away the vulnerability of the keys being readily available online. However, while useful to have, PlayStation scene member Jose Coixao stressed that this by no means guarantees an easy hack for the PS5, since there's still plenty of other work involved in being able to exploit a console. Time will tell if those within the scene can make any headway with the discovery of these keys.

➡️Source

ES-DE gets companion app for dual-screened Android handhelds

Dual-screened gaming has been thrown back into the spotlight in the past six months thanks to the combined efforts of AYN, AYANEO, and Anbernic. Offering what could be the best emulation experience for 3DS and DS games, these systems have been relatively well-received. Running Android under the hood however, finding the best way to organise and interact with your emulated library may be a challenge.

With the most popular frontends being designed for single-screened handhelds, you're left with an awkward experience that doesn't take advantage of everything your device has to offer. Going beyond what we usually see from fifth generation hacks, Blinding White 2 revamps the game with modern Pokemon, new item systems, a number of new rival fights, and a whole heap of quality of life updates. Trainers around the region will now sport much more varied teams to keep you on your toes, with a Hardcore mode available for people who really want to challenge themselves.

Though there are still more updates to come in the form of OST changes and postgame rematches, the hack is currently complete in its main story content, making this as good a time as any to give it a go. If you do want to try it for yourself, you can patch your ROM directly using Hackdex, or do it yourself with the BPS file on Google Drive.

Release Notes said:

Pokemon Blinding White 2 is an overhaul of the Gen 5 sequels that introduces a wide variety of unique gameplay changes in both the quality of life and difficulty field! The game offers difficulty on both Normal and Hardcore mode, with Normal mode giving you a little more leeway while Hardcore mode pushes your skills to the very limit.
The original Resident Evil game from 1996 caused quite the stir in the gaming sphere, with the term "Survival Horror" being cemented when it dropped for the original PlayStation, with other titles like Silent Hill really delving into other aspects of what horror games could be.

Since then, the game got plenty of ports to other consoles, not as many as Resident Evil 2, and much less than the original Resident Evil 4 of course, but it still got plenty, like a port to the Sega Saturn and one by SourceNext for the PC, as well as having 3 different versions in the original PlayStation, the original 1996 release, followed by the Director's Cut in 1997 and then the infamous Director's Cut Dual Shock version in 1998, which used a completely different soundtrack, and the last official port of the game came in the form of Resident Evil Deadly Silence for the Nintendo DS, which added a lot of new features while still retaining the look and gameplay from the original game.

But there was yet another port that never saw the light of day, and one such port was one planned for the Game Boy Color by Software House HotGen back in 1999, but due to the limitations of the hardware, Capcom cancelled the project, but it didn't remain in the shadows, as back in 2012 a beta build of said project came to light, although with a lot of its content still missing, like missing intro titles for the publishers, a debug menu being available, and the game could not be finished with any of the two characters (Chris or Jill).

However, another build has recently been found by Games That Weren't, with them claiming that the shared build that was found is one near the moment of cancellation, with a lot of previously unseen footage and information being available in this new build. Interestingly, this new build seems to have the debug menu removed, this being a hint that it was probably in a close-to-finished state, the Tyrant can now be found in this build, as well as some of the game's ending sequences. There's still some slight missing data, like:

Zombies not having a proper death animation

Hunter sprite data is there but there's no Hunter enemies present

Wesker and Barry sharing sprites

Some sprites have wrong colouring

Some cutscenes are unfinished

Additionally, according to several players online, Jill's campaign can be finished from start to end, albeit with some bugs here and there, while Chris' campaign seems to be stuck at the section of the game where a Flamethrower needs to be placed to open a door.

Those interested can visit Games That Weren't website and the article they posted regarding the new Resident Evil GBC dump, as well as trying out the new beta as well.

Source

'Dune: Awakening' free Chapter 3 update and new DLC announced

As the anticipation for Grand Theft Auto 6 continues to build, the gaming community has turned its collective attention to dissecting every frame of Rockstar Games' promotional footage. While the protagonists, Lucia and Jason, have been the center of attention, a new figure has emerged from the background to capture the curiosity of fans—an unnamed "mystery character" whose recurring presence suggests a significant role in the upcoming blockbuster.

The Sightings

According to a recent report by Screen Rant, eagle-eyed fans have spotted this character in two distinct and seemingly important scenes within the available trailer footage.

The first sighting places the character directly alongside the game's dual protagonists, Lucia and Jason, in what appears to be a bar setting. This proximity to the main cast immediately signaled to fans that this was likely more than a standard NPC (Non-Playable Character).

The second sighting reinforces this theory. The character appears in a "selfie video" clip, delivering a line of dialogue with a distinct Latino accent: "Say Vice City, baby!" This speaking role—a rarity for background assets in trailers—has convinced many that he is integral to the narrative.

The Theories: Brother, Friend, or Foe?

The primary source of confusion—and excitement—is the character's absence from official channels. Screen Rant notes that while Rockstar has provided background descriptions for main characters on the official GTA 6 website, this specific individual is nowhere to be found.

This omission has led to rampant speculation on platforms like Reddit. The leading theory, highlighted by the report, is that the character may be a close relative of Lucia, possibly her brother. His comfortable demeanor with the protagonists and his enthusiastic embrace of the Vice City lifestyle suggest an intimate connection to the storyline, potentially serving as a comedic relief or a pivotal family member who draws the pair deeper into the criminal underworld.

Looking Ahead

The mystery highlights a classic Rockstar marketing tactic: hiding key narrative elements in plain sight. With the game's release currently slated for late 2026, fans are left to scour existing footage for "crumbs" of information.

As Screen Rant points out, it is highly probable that future trailers will shed light on this character's identity. Until then, he remains a symbol of how much we still don’t know about the next chapter of the Grand Theft Auto saga.

Rockstar’s Deafening Silence: Is GTA 6 Being Protected or Manipulated?

As 2025 draws to a close, the gaming industry is listening to a familiar sound: the deafening silence of Rockstar Games. With the release of Grand Theft Auto VI officially slated for November 19, 2026, the studio’s lack of communication has transformed every forum thread and group chat into a hotbed of speculation. This strategy raises a critical question: Is Rockstar withholding information to protect the integrity of their art, or are they carefully manipulating the industry's patience to maximize hype?

The Roadmap So Far

The tone for the game has already been set by two major trailers. Trailer 1 introduced the world to Leonida and Vice City, showcasing a vibrant, satirical culture dominated by social media. Trailer 2 shifted the mood, offering a clearer, more serious look at the characters and the narrative stakes.

Now, the community is waiting for the third beat—a drop that likely won’t be labeled "Part 3." Instead, fans are anticipating the arrival of raw gameplay, pre-order announcements, or a "Wishlist Now" campaign. This next step is expected to move beyond "vibes" and offer concrete proof of the game's systems.

What Fans Are Expecting

The silence has left room for intense fan theories, particularly regarding what a gameplay reveal might entail. The expectation is that the next update will focus on the simulation itself rather than just cinematic flair:

Interiors & Density: Players are hoping for functional interiors—bars, shopping centers, and safehouses—that offer strategic depth rather than serving as mere backdrops.

Next-Gen NPC Behavior: The "holy grail" for many is a world that reacts credibly to the player. This means NPCs that recognize patterns, respond to reputation, and react realistically to weather and chaos.

Driving Physics: With cars being the franchise's primary interface, rumors suggest a focus on expressive damage and weightier, more accurate handling.

The Business of Silence

While the community constructs its own narratives—debating fuel systems, realistic damage, and inventory limits—Rockstar’s silence serves a business function. By withholding the "ask," Rockstar ensures that when pre-orders finally open, the hesitation will instantly turn into conversion.

The pricing remains another point of contention. The industry is watching closely, knowing that Rockstar has the unique power to set a new price standard that the rest of the market will attempt to follow.

Conclusion

Rockstar's strategy relies on the speed at which information economies build up in a void. By staying quiet, they allow the community to build a mythos around the game that no marketing budget could buy. However, this comes with risks; if the official product doesn't match the community's runaway imagination, the backlash could be severe. For now, the only fact that matters is the date on the calendar: November 19, 2026. Until Rockstar speaks again, everything else is just noise.

Former Call of Duty Executive Warns: GTA 6 Could Be an "Apocalypse" for Free-to-Play Shooters

As the gaming industry braces for the colossus that is Grand Theft Auto VI, a former Call of Duty executive has issued a stark warning: the upcoming title may not just dominate the charts—it could completely drain the life out of current free-to-play giants.

Greg Reisdorf, the former Creative Director at Sledgehammer Games who led development on Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’s multiplayer, believes the launch of GTA 6 represents an existential threat to mature-themed live-service games. Speaking to Esportsbets, Reisdorf painted a grim picture for titles like Call of Duty: Warzone, predicting that Rockstar’s latest entry could turn rival lobbies into "ghost towns" overnight.

The "AAAAA" Threat

The industry is no stranger to hype, but GTA 6 is a different beast entirely. With projections estimating $7.6 billion in revenue within the first 60 days and sales potentially doubling those of its predecessor, the game is poised to suck the oxygen out of the room. Reisdorf notes that when a title of this magnitude launches—one that has been described as the industry's first "AAAAA" game—it demands a level of player attention that leaves little room for competitors.

Reisdorf’s primary concern lies with player retention. Live-service games survive on momentum and daily active users. If millions of players migrate to Vice City to explore the new Leonida setting and its rumored MMO-like online features, games that rely on the same mature demographic may struggle to fill matches.

Who is Safe?

Interestingly, Reisdorf makes a crucial distinction regarding who is in the blast radius. He suggests that while mature shooters are in direct danger, titles targeting younger audiences, such as Fortnite and Roblox, might weather the storm. The crossover between the Grand Theft Auto demographic and the Call of Duty player base is significant; both franchises cater to adults seeking high-fidelity, competitive, and gritty experiences.

The Industry Scramble

The warning comes amidst a wider industry retreat. Major publishers have already begun strategic maneuvers to avoid the GTA 6 launch window, currently expected around November 19, 2026. High-profile titles like Death Stranding 2 and The Outer Worlds 2 are reportedly benefitting from release dates that steer clear of Rockstar’s juggernaut.

Reisdorf points out that this defensive positioning is rare. It highlights a collective recognition that GTA 6 is not just a game release, but a cultural event that could monopolize gaming conversations for months, if not years.

A Live-Service "Existential Crisis"

The long-term worry for executives is the staying power of GTA Online. If the new iteration replicates the decade-long success of its predecessor, it could permanently shift where "whales" and casual players alike spend their time and money. Reisdorf praised Rockstar's history of community-focused content, noting that a successful transition to the new online era could seal the fate of struggling live-service competitors.

As 2026 approaches, the question remains: Can the market support multiple titans, or will GTA 6 prove to be the "meteor" that forces a mass extinction event for current favorites? For now, developers of mature free-to-play shooters are likely double-checking their contingency plans.

GTA 6 Online: Release Date Delays and New MMORPG Rumors

The wait for the most anticipated video game of all time just got a little longer. While fans have been scouring the internet for every scrap of information regarding Grand Theft Auto 6, recent reports indicate a significant shift in the release timeline, along with intriguing new details about what the next generation of GTA Online might look like.

Release Date Pushback to late 2026

According to recent updates, Rockstar Games has delayed the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 to November 19, 2026. The studio cited the need for extra months to ensure the game reaches the "level of polish" fans expect.

For players eagerly awaiting the new Online mode, this delay inevitably pushes back the timeline for multiplayer chaos as well. Historically, Rockstar has launched its Online modes either simultaneously with the base game or shortly after the single-player campaign release (as seen with GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2). While an official "Online" release date has not been confirmed separately, it is safe to assume it will arrive on or shortly after that November 2026 window.

Industry Veteran Teases MMORPG Elements

While the wait continues, speculation about the gameplay itself is heating up. Rich Vogel, a gaming industry veteran known for his work on Ultima Online, Star Wars Galaxies, and DOOM, recently shared rumors he has heard regarding the new Online mode.

Speaking to Wccftech, Vogel suggested that GTA 6 Online might evolve into something resembling a Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG).

"If what I have been hearing about GTA 6’s features and gameplay is true, it could evolve into an MMORPG, as many of its planned features are typically found in MMORPGs," Vogel stated.

While Vogel clarified that he has not worked on the game himself and is sharing second-hand information, the move would make sense for Rockstar. The current iteration of GTA Online has already adopted many RPG-lite elements over its decade-long lifespan, and a full embrace of MMO mechanics could support the game's longevity for years to come.

Musician Cameos and Fan Theories

Beyond mechanics and dates, the rumor mill is churning regarding the game's soundtrack and culture. Electronic musician Anyma sparked speculation recently by posting a photo on Instagram with Sam Houser, the president and co-founder of Rockstar Games.

Fans on Reddit were quick to dissect the interaction. Some believe this confirms Anyma’s music will be featured on the game's radio stations, while others remain skeptical, noting that Houser is notoriously private and the meeting could be casual. As one Reddit user noted, "As long as Rockstar keeps sharing content about GTA Online, it's normal to come across meaningless posts like this."

The Long Road Ahead

Rockstar Games has yet to officially confirm the existence of a specific "GTA 6 Online" mode, though its inclusion is considered a certainty given the massive financial success of its predecessor. For now, fans will have to exercise patience. With a new target date of late 2026, the road to Vice City—and the online world built around it—is still under construction.

Industry Veteran Suggests GTA 6 Online Could Evolve into a Full-Fledged MMORPG

As the gaming world waits with bated breath for Grand Theft Auto VI, developers and publishers are scrambling to clear their release schedules to avoid its shadow. But amidst the usual hype about graphics and map size, a new and intriguing rumor has emerged from an industry heavyweight: GTA 6 might be steering the franchise into the territory of Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games (MMORPGs).

The Source: A Titan of the MMO Genre

The insight comes from Rich Vogel, a seasoned veteran whose resume reads like a history book of the MMO genre. Vogel has worked on seminal titles such as Ultima Online, Star Wars Galaxies, and The Old Republic.

In a recent interview with Wccftech regarding the state of Western MMOs, Vogel dropped a significant nugget of information. While discussing the lack of high-budget Western MMOs currently in development, he noted that the next major evolution in the genre might not come from a traditional fantasy RPG, but from Rockstar Games.

"If what I have been hearing about GTA 6's features and gameplay is true," Vogel stated, "it could evolve into an MMORPG, as many of its planned features are typically found in MMORPGs."

Blurring the Lines Between Action and RPG

Vogel’s comments highlight a shift that many players have already begun to feel in the current iteration of GTA Online. While he clarified that his information is second-hand—he is not working on the project himself—the trajectory of the franchise supports his theory.

It is universally expected that GTA 6 will launch with a traditional, narrative-driven single-player campaign. However, the online component appears poised to deepen the "persistent world" mechanics that made its predecessor a financial juggernaut.

The "FiveM" Factor

The strongest evidence supporting an MMORPG shift is Rockstar’s acquisition of Cfx.re in August 2023. Cfx.re is the team behind FiveM, a popular modification framework for GTA V that allows players to join dedicated roleplay servers.

On these servers, players don't just shoot and drive; they assume specific roles—police officers, paramedics, business owners, and criminals—adhering to strict rules of engagement and character persistence. This style of gameplay is the very definition of an MMORPG. FiveM became so popular that it frequently boasted higher concurrent player counts than the base game on Steam.

By officially bringing the FiveM team into the fold, Rockstar signaled a massive interest in officializing this style of play. If GTA 6 integrates these roleplaying systems, dedicated servers, and persistent character progression natively, it would effectively become the most expensive and high-fidelity MMORPG ever made.

What This Means for Players

If these rumors hold true, the "Online" portion of GTA 6 could offer a far more immersive living world than previous entries. Instead of simple lobby-based deathmatches or races, players might find themselves in a seamless economy where their chosen "job" or role impacts the wider server.

While Rockstar has yet to confirm specific details about the online modes, the combination of Rich Vogel’s industry hearsay and the studio's recent business moves suggests that Grand Theft Auto is ready to transcend its action-adventure roots and dominate the MMO space as well.

New GTA Online Event Week: Christmas Special (Dec 18 – Jan 7)

As the snow begins to fall and the holiday festivities kick off in Los Santos, Rockstar Games has dropped a nostalgic treat for veteran players and collectors alike. For a limited time during the Holiday Event (December 18, 2025 – January 7, 2026), GTA Online players can secure one of the rarest vanity items in the game: the iconic Liberty City License Plate.

Here is everything you need to know about this exclusive drop and how to claim it for your collection.

A Nod to the Classics

The Liberty City plate is a coveted cosmetic item featuring the "State of Liberty" text and the famous skyline of the metropolis that defined Grand Theft Auto III and GTA IV. Unlike standard custom plates that can be crafted via the License Plate Creator, this vanity item is "locked" to specific vehicles and only appears during special Salvage Yard rotations, making it a true status symbol for car enthusiasts.

How to Get the Liberty City Plate

To get your hands on this rare plate, you need to engage with the Salvage Yard Robberies for the current event week. The plate is exclusively attached to the robbery target vehicle, which you must steal and then claim as your own.

Step-by-Step Guide:

Visit Your Salvage Yard: Log in to GTA Online and head to your Salvage Yard business.

Select "The Gangbanger Robbery": Check the planning computer. You are looking for The Gangbanger Robbery mission.

Target Vehicle: The target for this robbery is the Vapid Clique.

Complete the Heist: Finish the robbery setup and finale.

Claim the Vehicle: Once the job is done, do not sell the car or salvage it for parts. Instead, choose the option to Claim the Vehicle.

By claiming the car, you add the Vapid Clique to your personal garage, keeping the exclusive Liberty City license plate intact. As a bonus, this week's Vapid Clique also comes wrapped in the limited-time "Merry Cliquemas" livery.

The "Document Forgery" Discount Trick

claiming a Salvage Yard vehicle usually comes with a fee, but savvy business owners can slash this price significantly.

Standard Claim Price: $20,000

Discounted Price: $10,000

To unlock the 50% discount, you simply need to own a Document Forgery Office. The business does not need to be active or upgraded; mere ownership is enough to drop the claim fee to a measly $10,000—a steal for a removed vehicle that previously cost over $900,000.

Limited Availability

This opportunity is part of the GTA Online Christmas Special and is expected to end when the event week concludes on January 7, 2026. With Rockstar rotating these rare plates infrequently, collectors are advised to act fast before the Liberty City plate disappears back into the vault.

Tekken Mega Music Mix Dropped by Series Boss Harada, and It's 30 Years of Pure Nostalgia

But for those of you who are still clinging on to your Switch 1 and wondering whether Samus' brand new adventure holds up on the old system, fear not.

Digital Foundry has taken a look at the Switch 1 release of Metroid Prime 4 and is pretty much in agreement with us on the surprising quality of the release. You can read their impressions on their shiny new website, or listen to the trio talk about the game on this week's DF Direct Weekly (up top).

Leave it to Retro Studios, hey? The game has understandably taken a hit on Switch 1, as you'd expect, but Digital Foundry says "Our resolution and frame-rate analysis tools tell a positive story for one of Switch 1's prettiest games yet." That's high praise indeed, with much of the positivity from the team coming from just what the developers have managed to squeeze out of the old system.

Perhaps the most impressive aspect of Prime 4 on Switch 1 is the solid 60fps performance, which Digital Foundry feels confident enough to say"we classify this as a 'locked 60fps' game on all Switch consoles." The only drops the folks note are a handful in the open-world bike sections, and they're extremely few and far between.

Even though image quality takes a hit — pixel count is around "504p for geometry, 576p for Samus' visor", which is lower than 2023's Metroid Prime Remastered on Switch — there's a lot more going on here. While the pixels might be lower, the level-of-detail in the environment, shadows, and particular effects are "seemingly identical" to the Switch 2 version.

So that cut in pixel count and visual smoothness is to allow Retro to still give the full experience to players on the older consoles. You'll be missing some detail and smoothness, and you'll have to put up with worse texture filtering, an apparent lack of anti-aliasing, and fuzzy, jagged edges and textures in places. But it's an impressive experience on the Switch 1, all the same.

Images: Digital Foundry

Heck, we said so ourselves last week: "if you’re not looking to upgrade anytime soon and you’re keen to jump into Samus’ latest adventure, it's well worth picking up, as there's a fantastic game to be had."

Of course, the Switch 2 version is the version to get, and Digital Foundry were full of praise for that release.
